The intake valve is the pneumostome of the air compressor. When the air enters into the head of the compressor through the intake valve,it becomes the compressed gas by being compressed. It can control the load and unload of the compressor , the size and flow of the air pressure and so on. It is a main part in the compressor(intake control system).

The intake valve is made up of the valve body、valve、piston、paraffin、spring、seal ring and so on. There is a control block and control solenoid valve on its side. Its function is on-off valve regulation、off-loading 、noise elimination、depressurization、 emptying and so on. A small part of air will be out when off-loading,which will balance the intake gas by the small hole on the valve,keep the pressure in the separation oil tank in 0.2-0.3MPa and maintain normal oil circulation of the air compressor . The open and shut of the intake valve is controlled by the pressure transducer in the regulating system and solenoid valve. It’s very important for the air compressor’s reliability whether the open and shut of the intake valve is of agility. 

The failure in the valve is usually the not-unload of the screw compressor or the not-shut of the valve . If not-load,the solenoid valve damages. If the screw compressor sprays oil, the control block has a failure. If the screw compressor overloads, the valve should open in advance when the compressor starts. So the intake valve should change the service kit at regular intervals to maintain good working condition. When maintenance, you should take down the parts, check the abrasion of the friction surface,especially the surface of the rubber seal ring. If damage or fissure, change it. When the service kit has been changed, all the parts should be cleaned up.  And the friction surface of metal parts should be coated with the lubricating oil.
